The soy harvest process is in an advanced stage on the leased farms.

“Chocleada Solidaria” in Santa María Farm

On March 23rd 2012, the first corn harvest for charity was done with great success in Santa María farm. This important solidarity event was organized by San Jorge School, Lujan Church (both from Trinidad City) and Campos Orientales. The corns from the lot donated by our company were hand-harvested and bagged by the students, parents, teachers, nuns, priests and out staff. The corn bags were sent to different assistance centersof the area.

It was a huge opportunity to show how a company and its community can work together for solidarity purposes .

Training

The farming responsables of our farms in Argentina and Uruguay met at La Floresta farm and recieved an update on “how to apply efficient pulverizations”. This meeting was done as one of the many trainings Campos Orientales’ staff always recieve.

Another prize for Campos Orientales

On Friday October 14th Campos Orientales won the prize “Champion Heifer Lot” during the Braford Nation Exposition 2011 in Uruguay.

First Milking

On August 8th , the first milking was done in La Floresta farm’s new dairy.

Since then it is producing excelent levels of milk.

Prize for Campos Orientales

We won the “Braford Champion Batch” 2011 during the traditional “Steer Contest” that took place in the Florida’s Rural Society organised by the Rural Association of Uruguay (Asociación Rural del Uruguay, ARU). The Champion Batch (second picture) belongs to the 2-years category and the average weight was 640Kg. We also won the “Reserved Braford Champion Batch” also of the 2-years category; they were from other batch where the average weight was 582Kg.

José Bonica, ARU’s President, presents the “Braford Champion Batch” prize to Conrado Cimino (Campos Orientales’ CEO).

The achievement of such a prestigiuos prize is very important for us because one of our main goals is to produce high-quality beef for Uruguay and the World.

The picture shows the place where heifers have the best quality of beef .

Loading of Santa María’s finishing lot steers

The pictures shows the veterinarian sent by the Uruguayan Farming Investigation Institute (Instituto Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria, INIA) controlling the steers before they are loaded. Our steers have excellent finishing conditions for the demanding export market in Uruguay.

Today 240 steers were loaded with 530Kg of average live weight.

The picture above has the loaded trucks being weighed in Santa María’s scale before going to the meat processing plant.
